This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or deal with us, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain English, because that is how we write everything.

dns Corporate Advisory is a trading style of DNS Accountants Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12237040, VAT number GB335118815). Our registered office is DNS House, 382 Kenton Road, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 8DP, and our London office is Linen Hall, Suite 304, 162-168 Regent Street, London W1B 5TB. DNS Accountants Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy and is regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

2. The information we collect

We collect and process the following kinds of personal data:

• Contact details you give us - your name, company, email address and phone number when you complete an enquiry form, subscribe to our insights, email us or call us.
• Information connected to an engagement - if you become a client, information about you and your business needed to provide our services, including financial information, ownership details and the identity information we must collect under anti-money-laundering law.
• Finance application information - if we arrange business or property finance for you, the information needed to prepare and submit an application to lenders.
• Correspondence - records of our communications with you.
• Technical data - our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and browser information, used for security and to keep the site running.

3. How we use it, and our lawful bases

• To respond to your enquiry - because it is in our legitimate interests to respond to people who contact us, and because it is a necessary step before entering a contract with you.
• To provide our services - to perform our contract with you.
• To send you our insights and updates - with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
• To meet our legal obligations - including anti-money-laundering checks, professional record-keeping and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
• To keep the website secure - in our legitimate interests.

4. Cookies

This website does not currently set cookies and does not run analytics or advertising trackers. The fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads; Google may record your IP address as part of serving that request. If we add cookies or analytics in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where there is a proper reason:

• Within the dns accountants group - including DNS Accountants (Pinksalt) Ltd, where needed to provide services to you or to administer our business.
• Lenders and funders - if you ask us to arrange finance, we share your application information with the lenders we approach on your behalf.
• Service providers - companies that provide our IT, customer-relationship and communications systems, who may only use your data on our instructions.
• Professional advisers and transaction counterparties - in the course of a transaction, only as agreed with you.
• Authorities - where we are legally required to, including under anti-money-laundering law. In limited cases the law requires us to make reports without telling you.

6. Where your data is stored

Some of our systems may store data outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where that happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as contractual protections recognised under UK data-protection law.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it, and we review what we hold regularly. Where you are or have been a client, we keep engagement records for as long as legal and professional record-keeping obligations require. Enquiry data that does not lead to an engagement is deleted once it is no longer needed.

8. Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct data that is wrong, or complete data that is incomplete;
• ask us to delete your data;
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it;
• receive the data you gave us in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our basis for processing.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first and we will do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make significant changes, we will say so clearly on this page.
